Thanks Jim, wish more members would post projects here as well. Pretty easy once you learn to resize photos to 257 kb or less. There are apps available that make it easy too. You have some interesting projects I think members would like to see as well.

The frame is modified and the bracket is finished. Well, there's a problem now. The slick is 6" wide and doesn't want to clear the caliper. This frame was made back in the day when a 4" slick was the only tire available. Luckily I have a NOS Avon 400-18 still wrapped in paper from the 60s. It has a few aging cracks but perfect for this project. It's off to the powder coater.
Still searching for a Hurst Airheart pill box master cylinder to finish up the brakes.

The frame parts should be back from the powder coater in a few days so took time to get the lawn equipment tuned up and ready for work.
I dismounted the old road race slick from the rear wheel and brought out the rare NOS Avon drag slick which is close to 50 years old. It has a few cracks and is a bit hard but can't expect to ever find another one so will carefully mount it and hope for the best. If it becomes a struggle I may take it to a bike shop to get the job done.

I got some ‘cast off’ tyre warmers from a track person upgrading. Warming the tyre up well with it makes a big difference (lots of Rugyde too).

$650.00 is a bit out of my price range. Larry thinks he may have scored a master cylinder which is all I need, will know soon.
Today I made up a exhaust pipe to replace the missing one. I bought Hooker U-bends and disappointed in the quality as the bend was not a true circle like they use to be. This makes it difficult to blend a straight piece to the bent piece.

It's not nice enough for chrome plating so will blast the other 3 pipe and either wrap them with heat tape or put hi-temp paint on them.

Mark, thanks for the tire warmer offer. As for now I have a inflated tube in the tire and am rubbing it down with Black Again, a preservative used by antique car collectors.

After busted knuckles and some swearing the slick is mounted.
It looks much better than the old road racing tire.
