Benelli 250 Quattro

If in doubt, or it doesn't seem to fit elsewhere - put it here.

Benelli 250 Quattro

Postby Lotus54 » Wed May 28, 2025 11:21 am

I’ve been looking for years. I found a new 1980 Benelli 250 quattro (four). Original 44 kilometers.
Freinds sold it to me for a great deal.

This is a new bike, from 1980.
Next to my 250 2C (2-stroke twin), which is small. This is even smaller.

Another picture.
I changed oil (very well original- and while base oil is still good, additives can go bad)- installed a new agm battery and it is running great.

Wow! what a little jewel. I've never seen one before. What's next, a road racer? Ha

Comso only brought 8 of them into the country. There have been a few more around direct imported much later.
You will see another around before long- but I won’t spill the beans.

One of their 60s 250 or 350 road racers would be super cool. But since they were factory only bikes- cost would be incredibly high I think.

Two darn cool bikes!

Need to line up all the Benelli 250s (too bad I don’t still have the 250 ‘egg’)

The bike sat quite a long time. I’m not sure when fuel was in it, or how long ago. When I first put some in, one carb overflowed- a tap on the bowl stopped it.
But the plugs also are very black and tend to foul.
So I popped the carbs off- cleaned out bowls (just a little bit of stuff in there, pretty clean) and jets. Then dropped the needles a notch.
I have not tried it yet- but will see if that gets mixture better. It would run great until the plugs got too much deposits.
