Hi to you that like bikes.
I'm 85 years old. Own a 1966 Honda Superhawk 305, that I have ridden 27,460 mile since 1966.I got the bug on my 1946WHIZZER. I was a Harley enthusiast from the age of 13. Riding a friends 74 till 1952 when I got a K model 45. A very dear friend of mine started drag racing his 74 around the Mid-West in 1950 and I hung out and played crew. By 1952 I was a big part of his crew and assisted in building a twin eng. dragster that won the world series of drags in St Louis in 1953. In 1951 we went to Bonneville Salt Flats and ran his 1950 Olds. Returning in 1955 with the twin "MONSTER" he turned 154 before loosing a cylinder on the twin 80s. He still rides a Bonneville each year even at 90. I only ride for pleasure now and not often. but have a great interest in anything to do with bikes.

Welcome to the group. Lots of variety in the group. All different interests.
Feel free to start a topic, or come to our monthly dinners and talk with anyone that you want.
Dinners are the third Thursday of every month at the Cornerhouse in downtown Port Angeles. Nominally 6:30 PM start.

Welcome Kickstand. Please give us your first name and your general location?
Sounds like you've had an interesting life around motorcycles and speed.
I'll wager the 90 year old land speed racer you are referring to is Bud Schmidt.
You may also know Marty Dickerson also 90+ that ran Bonneville for many years
and set a few records.
Keep posting here, sounds like you have a lot more stories to tell.
John
