Hello, folks;

I'd like to follow up my Subject Line (above) with a list of (to the best of my recollection), the bikes I've had:
1954 Norton Dominator 88 (500 twin); 1959 Norton Dominator 99 (600 twin); @1947 Vincent Series 2 Rapide (red, with Harley-type bars!);1954 Harley KHK; Two-and-a-half Norton 750 Atlases (don't ask); BMW R27; Yamaha DS7 2-stroke 250 twin; 1974 & 1975 Yamaha RD 350s; Yamaha "DT-something" 250 2-stroke; 1984 Yamaha RZ 350 (my all-time favorite); a Chinese 125cc "Indian" trail bike (bought from a woman who won it on The Price is Right); 1989 Kawasaki KZ 1300; 1990 Suzuki VX 800; and, currently, a 2003 Triumph Daytona 955i.
Glad to join your blog, but - since good riding weather is fast drawing to a close - plus the Daytona has been practically "held as a hostage" by a bike shop for approaching 2 months due to, it seems, rampant stupidity on the part of their mechanics for an electrical glitch - we'll have to wait 'til next spring in order to depart Port Townsend for any get-togethers! 8-)

Alan,
Most of us won't be riding much as weather changes. We won't hold it against you if you want to drive to the next meet at my shop, east of Sequim.
Oh, by the way, you were going to share some photos of old bikes in Cuba last year. Still want to see them.
John

Did not, unfortunately, see many old bikes in Cuba worth photographing, but do have shots of interesting bikes in other countries - particularly Spain - since we took 5 weeks to walk across it last spring! Also, I just dug photos out of my Mac's Photos file from an earlier visit in Barcelona, taken in a fantastic museum of all-Spanish-make motorcycles. Of course we're talking Bultaco, Ossa & Metralla, but that's not the half of it - the marvelous selection just blew me away.
First off, however, I'd need copious instruction on how to drag my pics into your blog!?

Alan,
It's a bit difficult posting pics on here. If you go to Site Info in the Board Index, there is some help there. If you try to post a photo file that is too large, it will tell you do down size it to a max. kb size.
If you have an online photo storage site, you can post a link here for that.
I use a Mac but I don't think it's any different with Microsoft.

Thanks Alan for posting your information and bikes that your around.... If you can try and make it to the meeting which will be on the 19th this month. Look forward to meeting you.

Looks good Alan. You can up the resolution to a max of 256 KB. Any larger than that will be rejected.

Okay, let's see how this works: Placed 3 pics from my iMac's Photos file in an email to myself (selected "small" which totaled 126 kb), then dragged each one out of the inbox onto my desktop screen.
Then went thru the website rigamarole required to include them in this post. Looked okay when I clicked on "preview."

First one illustrates how motor bikers get around on rainy days in Ubud, Bali. Even on breezy days!
Second one is of a biking threesome in Cuba.
Last is a heartfelt memorial to a deceased fellow biker in a Spanish village. Banner says "We remember you, friend."

Alan J.

We are incredibly busy right now, but there's a possibility I could make it to your next meeting ... but I'd need an address & time! Plus, I understand it's always held at John H.'s "shop" which intrigues me. Could it be (hope, hope, since P.T.'s Honda shop is now closed) a bike shop I'm not aware of?

Alan,
I posted information "Next meeting Oct 19" under GATHERINGS a couple a days ago.

Sorry if there is confusion about this months meeting location. The meet is only scheduled at my shop this month.
Hopefully someone will volunteer to have the next meet at their place.
My 'shop' is just my hobby shop, not a business.

I'll PM you with details.

Great photo of your daughter on the Norton.
